Never a Dull Moment was the third of, as of 2017, four Disney films to feature Dick Van Dyke, who was named a Disney Legend in 1998. The attempt by Smooth’s minions to catch Albany, now known to be a phony, is complicated by varied props, including a gigantic hot dog, statues of tin soldiers, and a spinning mobile, in the museum’s pop art gallery. On the other hand, such pleas can help influence benevolent third parties!Ĭowboy Schaeffer (Slim Pickens) struggles to pronounce the term “Hors d’oeuvre.” No matter cocktail weenies for everyone! Something tells me that expecting Williams to spare him using desperate idealistic pleas such as “if two men in a situation like this can reach an accommodation, who knows but what nations, too, can learn to reason instead of fight” or “perhaps from the seed of concord we plant here tonight a great fruit-bearing tree will grow, an umbrella of peace, spreading its branches over the whole beautiful world, international brotherhood of every race and creed” will not suffice. In what is by far the film’s funniest segment, Albany amusingly attempts to reason with Ace Williams during a battle to prove their authenticity to Smooth. Compared to other Disney comedies of the period, such as The Misadventures of Merlin Jones (1964), The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969), and The Barefoot Executive (1971), the humor in Never a Dull Moment falls somewhat flat.Ī foreboding shootout between gangsters and police in the opening scene turns out to be part of a production within a production, not an actual criminal situation.ĭespite being a B-List actor, Jack Albany receives a prestigious award…or at least he pretends such is the case by exalting a bottle of shaving cream as a trophy.įlorian serves as a literal whipping boy for Smooth, repeatedly slapped in the face for perceived transgressions. ![]() Never a Dull Moment is consistently amusing but lacks truly hysterical moments. This music well complements the motions of Jack Albany through a world of shady characters. Will Albany’s production see a fairytale ending, or will Albany meet an unfortunate fate?Īlthough Never a Dull Moment lacks lyrical numbers, a suspenseful tune reminiscent of “The Pink Panther Theme” recurs throughout. Unfortunately for Albany, the real Ace Williams shows up, creating an awkward, and potentially deadly, situation. Dealing with a group of Smooth’s criminal minions in addition to Smooth’s kindly art teacher, Sally Inwood (Dorothy Provine), who is not privy to Smooth’s schemes, Albany decides to assume the biggest acting role of his career-he will pretend to be Ace Williams and hopefully thwart the robbery through improvisation. So you can mix things up, instead of spamming your light attack button. But it's not a true combo, unless you're using the Mossy charm. On a side note, the 2nd light attack can be followed up by a sped up strong attack (the "spin into thrust" attack). Don't hesitate to dump your black pearls in Dexterity (and eventually, the Midshipman's Dirk will be your most damaging dagger). So if you are running a dagger build, keep in mind that even the smallest increase in damage is impactful. Still significant enough for the extra points to be worth it. Past 50, it will still increase but in a less drastic manner (probably to balance things out). For instance, you'll do twice as much damage as a light attack at 10 Dex, while at 50 Dex you'll do 4 times the damage of a light. The backbone of this integration is the existing global ground network, based on the geodetic space techniques: very long baseline interferometry, satellite laser ranging, global navigation satellite systems and Doppler orbitography and radiopositioning integrated by satellite. These techniques have to operate as one global entity and in one global reference frame. The global reference frame in the GGOS is a realization of the International Terrestrial Reference System (ITRS). The ITRS is a world spatial reference system co-rotating with the Earth in its diurnal motion in the space. The IAG Subcommision for the European Reference Frame (EUREF) in 1991 recommended that the terrestrial reference system for Europe should be coincident with ITRS at the epoch tĠ = 1989.0 and fixed to the stable part of the Eurasian Plate. It was named the European Terrestrial Reference System 89 (ETRS89). On the 2nd of June 2008, the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography in Poland commenced operating the ASG-EUPOS multifunctional precise satellite positioning system. The ASG-EUPOS network defines the European Terrestrial Reference System ETRS89 in Poland. A close connection between the ASG-EUPOS stations and 15 out of 18 Polish EUREF permanent network stations controls the realization of the ETRS89 on Polish territory. This paper is a review of the global ITRS, as well as a regional and a national geodetic reference systems ETRS89. This study implemented a stable Regional Reference Frame in Shanghai, East China (called SHRRF), using seven years of continuous GNSS observations from the Shanghai Continuously Operating Reference System stations (SHCORS) to examine reclaimed coast–land subsidence. A well−distributed core station network suitable for regional applications was derived. The instantaneous station coordinates and seven frame parameters (translations, rotations, and scale) were estimated at each epoch through minimum constraint during the process of aligning SHRRF to the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF14). ![]() The average root mean square error (RMSE) of all stations under SHRRF was within 1.5 mm horizontally and 5 mm vertically for most epochs. Simultaneously, compared with the ITRF14 solutions, the average RMSE for each site at all epochs was reduced by ~30% horizontally and ~10% vertically. A temporal consolidation settlement model of the reclaimed soil under self−weight was established by combining a geotechnical−derived model with high precision permanent GNSS vertical solutions under SHRRF. The model indicates that ~50% of settlements occurred within 3.6 years, with the whole subsidence time being 46 years. SHRRF provides a precise regional reference frame for use in many East China geophysical applications besides reclaimed coast–land settlement including hydrologic loading, microplate motions, and critical structure deformation monitoring. The study introduces an efficient methodology to perform the transformations between station coordinate and velocity solutions where either minimum or redundant datum constraints have been imposed employing the estimated state vector and the covariance matrix thereof. The analytical methodology presented herein facilitates the datum alignment of largenetwork solutions, especially for the GNSS technique. ![]() ![]() Using a paddle attachment beat the butter and sugar for around 4 mins, stopping in between to scrape down the sides. TRIAL 3 - No CornflourĪnd finally I could nail the smooth top cookie dough. And 1/2 cup Cornflour seemed way too much. ![]() I might be wrong but somewhere I felt a basic eggless sugar cookies recipe should not have too many ingredients right. My Assumption - Too much Cornflour which is making the cookie super tender, dry and causing it to break. However post baking I figured out that the cookies were too soft and even this batch did not get the classic smooth surface on top that usually a sugar cookie will have. I adapted the recipe from our Eggless Stained Glass Cookie recipe with few changes. However once baked the cookies developed cracks on top - My assumption that the cookie dough was too dry as there was no creaming involved. The other reason is that the cookies would remain tender as there would be absolutely no gluten formation. One way to achieve that is by using the Reverse Creaming Technique as there are no beaters involved and everything is done using your own hands so you can control the air incorporated. The key to ensure that the cookies do not spread while baking is to avoid incorporating too much air into the batter.
